Who is Brent Hunter?

Brent Hunter is an Information Technology executive leader with over 20 years of experience, specializing in cybersecurity, program management and knowledge management. Brent has led teams comprised of up to 200 people and responsibility for budgets up to $38 million. Brent is also an entrepreneur, producer, former psychotherapist, and an award-winning author of five books regarding the subjects of knowledge management, psychology, and universal wisdom.

One of Brent's books, The Rainbow Bridge: Bridge to Inner Peace and to World Peace, illuminates the common ground in the world's major wisdom traditions, also known as universal wisdom. The book has received 22 literary awards and has been endorsed by the Dalai Lama, NY Times Bestselling Authors, Doctors, Attorneys, Ambassadors, Astronauts, Olympians and an Academy Award-Winning Actor.

Hunter has two Master of Science degrees, is a graduate of General Electric's fast-track Information Systems Management Program and holds twenty active professional certifications including a Six Sigma Black Belt. He has completed coursework at the eight Ivy League schools, Berkeley, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge and other leading universities. In addition, Brent graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne School and is an Eagle Scout.

Brent is also a social media pioneer, having founded and ran the world’s first intentionally-global online community starting in 1994. The Park was an online community/social networking site of 700,000 members in 190+ countries. Members participated online as well as in the physical world at events of up to 100 people.

In his spare time, Brent enjoys spending time with his beloved wife Dea, their beautiful dog Kenai and North American Sphynx Bambi. He enjoys working out daily, reading, writing, learning, watching movies and television shows, producing videos, movies and television shows, and occasionally mixing house music under the moniker "DJ Brent".

Detailed Biography

With two graduate degrees and twelve professional certifications in Knowledge Management, Change Management, Project/Program Management, Quality, and Agile Methodology, Brent Hunter is a Master Certified Knowledge Manager, Senior Project/Program Manager, author of five books, IT professional, producer, former psychotherapist and National Certified Counselor. He has held many positions ranging from a software engineer experienced in 10 programming languages, to Systems Analyst, Project Manager, Technology Manager, and CIO/Director of IT, in addition to being the Chairman and CEO of his own companies. Hunter has worked in many industries including insurance, healthcare, banking / financial services, education, consulting services, entertainment and military / defense at companies such as General Electric, Wells Fargo Bank, The Walt Disney Company, Blue Shield of California, Robert Half International and others.

Since 2020 Brent has taken courses at all eight Ivy League schools, Stanford, Berkeley, Oxford, Cambridge and other notable universities in a variety of subjects including but not limited to international security, leadership, knowledge management, leading remote teams, innovation, cybersecurity, cyberwarfare, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, blockchain technology, NFTs, metaverses and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

Hunter is also a social media pioneer as the founder of the first Internet-based global community started in 1994 called “The Park,” with more than 700,000 members in 190 countries worldwide.

Brent earned a B.S. in Math and Computer Science from Clarkson University, an M.S. in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University, and the equivalent of an M.S. in Information Systems after he graduated from the General Electric Company’s fast-track Information Systems Management Program.

Brent is an Eagle Scout, a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School, and is involved with a number of global civic organizations, including a past position in the United Nations Association of the U.S. as the Vice President of Communications in the Northern California Division.

Hunter’s first book, The Pieces of Our Puzzle: An Integrated Approach to Personal Success and Well-Being, provides a holistic synthesis of the world’s major schools of psychology.

Hunter's second book is The Rainbow Bridge: Bridge to Inner Peace and to World Peace, which illuminates the common ground in the world’s major wisdom traditions and includes a 14-Point Road Map to World Peace. The book has received 22 literary awards and has been endorsed by H.H. the Dalai Lama, New York Times Bestselling Authors, Doctors, Attorneys, Ambassadors, Astronauts, Olympians, an Academy Award-Winning Actor and a growing chorus of global luminaries.

In addition, Hunter has compiled two books of quotes about wisdom, Nuggets of Wisdom: Quotes to Ponder and Inspire and More Nuggets of Wisdom: Quotes to Ponder and Inspire, and has written the soon to be published The Park Odyssey. After being born in Brooklyn, NY and living in Upstate New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco, Brent currently lives, plays, and works in Los Angeles with his wife Dea, German Short Haired Pointer/Chocolate Lab Kenai, and North American Sphynxes Bindi and Bambi.
